Buying flowers is a Pilares ritual, just like wearing the iconic cachirulo. With its unmistakable red and black checks, worn around the neck, tied in the hair or styled as an accessory, this traditional scarf is a true symbol of Zaragoza.
Every October 12th, thousands of people, dressed in the traditional costumes of their regions, bring bouquets to the Virgen del Pilar, creating a spectacular floral mantle in the heart of the city.
